Making Stuff Is Hard...

OK...so making stuff can be fun.  It can also go horribly horribly wrong.  So I have decided to add this tab to my blog to showcase some of my craft and cooking failures.  I know you thought I was perfect but I am just a regular person like the rest of you.

Here are some things I have made that ended up ok but were really hard to make........

1-Pesto.  I thought pesto would be easy to make.  You just get some fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts, and oil, and maybe parmesan cheese and blend.  Well my food processor wouldn't work.  So then I put it in the blender.  Nothing blended.  So I finally used this hand blender I had.  Basically I had to keep transferring it back and forth from hand blender container to real blender container.  All in all, not worth it.  Just buy that nice jarred pesto they have at the store.

Here are some examples of things that did not turn out well at all.

Original version of the A-Corn Bachelorette party tee... I really liked the idea of stencil and fabric spray paint.  It just did not come out quite right.  I think the main problem was that my stencil was made by me out of a thin piece of cardboard.  I WILL try this again at some point....
Baby shower cookie outtakes... I just could not get the cribs to look good.
When I first started making the bottle cookies they expanded a little too much and ended up looking like blobs.  I threw some icing on it and gave them to my husband.  He really hates when I'm baking and he gets all excited for cookies/cake/pie and then I'm like "no, that's for wedding shower/birthday party/work social function".  So he got his own deformed baby bottle blob cookies this time.

And of course my first cookie press cookies.....They came out looking more like little scary bugs/creatures than a star or flower.   I will still have to practice with that contraption.
